B&O’s true wireless E8 buds launch in the UAE

B&O's buds offer awesome audio, but the fit takes some getting used to

Bang & Olufsen has a 90-year heritage in the audio business and its products have lent the brand a certain prestige. Audiophiles and casual enthusiasts alike agree that the company creates great devices. The latest in that collection are the Beoplay E8 true wireless buds. The company has decided to give the UAE a taste of its products ahead of the rest of the world.

The Beoplay E8 comes with a leather charging/carry case

Beoplay E8: Specs

The E8s come with two earpieces out of which the right one is the main unit. Both earpieces come with:

  • A 5.7mm dynamic speaker
  • A small electromagnetic transducer
  • NFMI technology
  • A Bluetooth 4.2 chip with Digital Sound Processing
  • Splash- and dust-resistant bodies
  • 4 hours of battery life on one charge

The devices comes with a leather – and I should add, rather well-designed – battery case that holds two full charges for the earpieces. In total, you get 12 hours of battery on the Beoplay E8s.

Beoplay E8: Price and availability

Beoplay E8 comes with a premium leather charging case, five ear tips and a charging cable and retails for Dh1,199. It’s available in the UAE at Jumbo, Virgin Megastore, iStyle and Harvey Nichols.

Beoplay E8: First look

I got my hands on the earpieces today and I have mixed feelings about them. The sound quality is amazing and the earpieces are extremely comfortable. One thing to note is that, voice is soothingly clear on the B&O E8s.

That being said, if you’ve used wireless earbuds you know one issue is that while they might be comfortable they don’t necessarily stay in your ear properly while you move around. This was an issue I constantly had with the first Samsung Gear Icon Xs. While the E8s haven’t fallen out yet, I feel like they’re perpetually on the verge of doing so and have to keep readjusting them.

These are merely impressions for using it for a short while, do keep and eye out for our upcoming review of these tiny fellows.
