Acer’s launching an incredibly thin gaming laptop this summer

At Computex 2017 Nvidia announced their latest laptop design, the Max-Q, allowing manufacturers to create extremely thin and mobile gaming laptops with desktop-level GPUs. Acer has announced its latest Predator Triton 700 that’s going to ship with the GTX 1080, and it’s just so thin and sleek.

What’s inside

The Predator Triton 700 comes equipped with Nvidia’s best offering: the GeForce GTX 1080 (overclockable) GPU. At its core sits Intel’s 7th Generation Core processors in a svelte 18.9 mm-thin (0.74 inch) aluminum chassis, thanks to Acer’s industry-leading AeroBlade 3D metal fans that increase airflow by 35 percent. It also takes up a lot less space within the device. You’ll get up to 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, allowing you to play any game out there and easily dive into VR as well.

Acer’s Predator line is all about giving gamers the most immersive gaming experience. It will offer a bright and vibrant 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display. It will also support Nvidia’s G-SYNC for smooth gameplay. Thanks to Dolby Atoms surround sound and Acer’s TrueHarmony system, the Predator Triton 700 will deliver fantastic audio with crisp, rich acoustics. It also comes with a Skype for Business Certification ensuring conversations are clear and lag-free.

Have killer LAN parties thanks to Acer’s Killer DoubleShot Pro networking. It picks the fastest network connection (Ethernet or Wireless) and sends all high priority traffic over that interface, while standard traffic is sent over the other. Thunderbolt 3 connectivity provides speeds up to 40 Gbps and supports dual 4K video output. The Predator Triton 700 also includes two USB 3.0 ports (featuring power-off USB charging), one USB 2.0 port, an HDMI 2.0 port, one DisplayPort connector as well as a Gigabit Ethernet port.

Design

The Predator Triton 700 features a sleek black chassis with a minimalist design featuring straight contours and angular front corners. A large Corning Gorilla Glass plate above the keyboard serves as a window into the notebook’s cooling system, showcasing the AeroBlade 3D Fan and five heat pipes, and also functions as a Precision Touchpad. Thankfully Acer is including a mechanical keyboard, an addition every gamer will appreciate. All the keys are RGB backlit and can be individually programmed. Its PredatorSense software enables gamers to control and customize the Predator Triton 700’s vitals from one central interface, including lighting, hotkeys, fan control and general system monitoring.

Price and Availability

The Predator Triton 700 gaming notebook will be available in the Middle East this August starting at €3,399 (14,012 Dhs) and we’re very excited to get our hands on it.
